This group meets at the petanque area in the Promenade Park in Maldon every Monday afternoon (except Bank Holiday Mondays) at 2 pm from the middle of March to the end of October where the games are competitive and friendly. They also play a match against another local U3A once a year. They also arrange end of season and other social events during the year. The rules of the game are easy to learn in a few weeks and they help each other until they remember them. If one of the members is willing to carry on playing during the winter and is happy to arrange a session for the hardy types (by telephone arrangement only). |
