Heybridge U3A

Gardening Group

Orchard Cottage, Rayleigh.

The gardening group meets in March to decide what we want to do during the summer and autumn. We choose gardens full of interest, both large and small, to visit in our local area, where we wander round then enjoy tea and home-made cakes. We might choose a village Open Garden weekend, or a specialist nursery instead, it is up to the members to decide.

After the planning meeting a programme is produced, detailing the date, entry cost, location and a description of each garden. There is one visit per month from April to September.

We also join the walking group for a snowdrop walk and a bluebell walk.

You don't have to know a tulip from a daffodil to join, just enjoy fresh air and beautiful surroundings.
